Spinning Monkey (TBR)

  1. You mean this one Tracy ???? According my chart “probably the spinning monkey stands for the prediction of people’s destiny by spinning their thread of life.”

Wow the symbolism sure has changed – do you have the SAN newsletter handy – is there anywhere ont he web I can read the article – I find the history of this fascinating 🙂

  2. Thats the little guy! Kinda creepy, huh, but fun. Symbolism is really subject to interpretation and the article goes on about all directions and never makes a concrete conclusion, so I wouldn’t say the meaning necessarily had changed. Sampler and Antique Newsletter is a quarterly magazine. It was the fall ’06 issue that had the article. I don’t think they have any content on-line that I can point you to.

  3. You means its a {gasp} print resource ??? Do you have subscription details?

  4. It’s a nice (yes – printed) magazine, obviously quarterly. You can see the issue covers and some inside shots on the Wyndham page: Sampler and Antique Needlework
It is $24.95/yr (has anyone ever seen it cheaper – mine is due for renewal) plus $12 international postage for you. Subscription service is 1-888-411-8995, if you want to take the plunge.
